I bought a couple Gibbs replacement spring kits from Rescue Technology in 2009, and installed one on a spare Gibbs QR, Version C. I acquired two more kits from Bob & Bob in 2017.
The spring kit consists of a 120 mm. length of 3.2 mm. spring wire with eye crimps on each end, a 6-32x1/4UNC Philips-head machine screw, an 8-32x1/2UNC hex-head machine screw, an 8-32x1/2 flat-head (3/32 in. Allen) machine screw, an 8-23 washer, and two 8-32UNC nylon lock nuts. The kit also includes a 3/32 in. Allen wrench.
I'm not sure whether Gibbs Products or Rescue Technology produced these kits, and the instructions don't say.
The kit is designed for a #3 Version B or similar Gibbs with the wire spring, plastic spring housing, and web QR pin keeper, but I chose to install it on a 1/2 in. Version C instead; as a result, I had some parts left over. The flat-head screw, washer, and second lock nut are for attaching the web pin keeper to an existing hole in the shell (after removing the plastic spring housing). Since I used a 1/2 in. Version C to start with, I chose to continue using the chain keeper.
The replacement spring works rather well, although continued use will eventually damage the spring. At that time, just install another, they are certainly cheap enough. I quickly learned that I didn't need the red cam keeper originally installed on the Gibbs: I removed it almost immediately.
